Auto Login of Evergreen Staff Client

With Evergreen, it is possible to set your staff client to automatically log you in to Evergreen without having to put in your hostname, user name or password manually each time. The credentials are stored within the properties of the Evergreen shortcut, so it would be advisable to secure the workstation by means of an initial login password within Windows.from: http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.5/_auto_login.htmlTo use Evergreen’s auto login, you will need to modify the Evergreen shortcut on your desktop. There are three new commands which are necessary for automatic login:

  • -ilsuser
  • -ilspassword
  • -ilshost

You will need all three to have your client successfully login. To enable automatic login we need to modify the Evergreen shortcut on your desktop. If your shortcut already has preset tab commands, then place the automatic login commands after those commands.

  • First, if your workstation will have multiple logins (circ, cat, admin) you need to copy a shortcut for each.

Right-mouse click and drag icon; upon release select Create Shortcut Herecreate_shortcut_here

  • After you have your various shortcuts set up, Click on “Properties” for the shortcut and add ” -ilsuser sagecirc -ilspassword sagepass -ilshost catalog.sage.eou.edu to the end of evergreen.exe in the “Target” field. Make sure to leave a space after ….exe”. Replacing sagecirc/sagepass with your staff account’s login/password. Example:

“C:\Program Files (x86)\Evergreen Staff Client 2.5.test\evergreen.exe” -ilsuser sagecirc -ilspassword sagepass -ilshost catalog.sage.eou.edu
