Embedding Sage’s Catalog Search on Outside Sites

Hello Libraries,I’ve heard a few people interested in putting a widget on their website so that they can search Sage’s catalog without first needing to be on the http://catalog.sage.eou.edu page or a Plinkit site.The widget is a form that you can embed on your website to call the Sage Catalog and do an easy keyword search. You could do a title or subject style search as well, but I felt a search widget worked best with a broader range.To search the OPAC, embed the following into your webpage:Image<form action="http://catalog.sage.eou.edu/eg/opac/results" method="get" target="_blank"> <!-- <1> -->
<div>
Quick Sage Library Catalog Search: </br>
<input type="search" alt="Catalog Search" maxlength="200"
size="20" name="query"
placeholder="Search Sage" />
<input type="hidden" name="qtype" value="keyword" /> <!-- <2> -->
<input type="hidden" name="locg" value=1 /> <!-- <3> -->
<input type="submit" value="Search" class-“form-submit”/>
</div>
</form>Note: You can change the “locg” value to your own library. Setting the value to 1 searches all of Sage. If you care to know your identification number, email Beth or me and we can give you that right away. That will scope all of the results in the keyword search to your specific library.Searching the Kids Catalog (KPAC):Image<form action="http://catalog.sage.eou.edu/eg/kpac/results" method="get" target="_blank"> <!-- <1> -->
<div>
Quick Kids Catalog Search: </br>
<input type="search" alt="Catalog Search" maxlength="200"
size="20" name="query"
placeholder="KPAC Search!" />
<input type="hidden" name="qtype" value="keyword" /> <!-- <2> -->
<input type="hidden" name="locg" value=1 /> <!-- <3> -->
<input type="submit" value="Search" class-“form-submit”/>
</div>
</form>
